Assembly:

The ER HyZor is a straight forward assembly with a few tools and items listed below. Assembly takes about 4 hours and installation about 2-3 hours.

• Assembly is straight forward with a few basic tools and the basic skills to use them safely. These kits are designed for the backyard mechanic in mind. If you change your own oil and do some basic preventative maintenance yourself, you shouldn't have a problem building and installing an ER Hyzor. We are also offering prebuilt units.

·         Required tools and supplies – Basic hand tools along with a saw to cut PVC pipe. This can be anything from a handsaw to a table saw, miter saw, and/or band saw.          

o        Basic hand tools -  pliers, screwdriver, wire cutters, drill, etc.

o        Saw to cut PVC -  hand saw, table saw, miter saw, and/or band saw.

o        Soldering iron – for soldering wires and connections to circuit board.

o        Glue Gun – required for HyZor assembly.

o        Multimeter -  not required, but highly recommended.

·         Additional items – Due to the wide variety of vehicles that the ER HyZor kits are installed on, we do not provide these additional pieces. Only you know what is needed for your particular installation. All available at your local hardware and electronics store with lye also found at grocery stores.

o        Electrical wiring, connectors, tape, and tie wraps.

o        PVC glue.

o        Pipe tape – only the white pipe tape, the goo in the bottle is not compatible with lye.

o        ¼ inch plastic hose – enough to connect the ER HyZor to your air cleaner.

o        Lye. Lye is considered a hazardous material so it cannot be shipped. Lye is used as a drain cleaner, but it is not Drano! Use only 100% pure lye – it usually comes in dry, granular form.

o        Parts not included

·         Helpful, illustrated directions  – Included are complete illustrated step-by-step directions along with a comprehensive DVD also showing step-by-step assembly and installation. 

·         Questions? – Support is available via email – AlexR@cool-flame.com – Please include your HyZor model and serial number in the subject line with a detailed description of your problem/question. I will also be adding more support and links in the near future.

• Where in my automobile should I install the ER HyZor?  The best option is under the hood, away from direct exhaust heat. We realize some small compact cars simply do not have room for this. In this case it can be installed on the passenger side next to the center console, behind the seat, or tucked away in the trunk.
• What kind of maintenance is required?  Periodically you will need to add distilled water to the unit with the supplied syringe. This is approximately every 4-5 fill ups of the gas tank and is easily done in less than a minute or two. There is a float switch in the ER HyZor with a light that will let you know when water must be added.
• How will my car's computer react to this?  No problem here. In addition to the above you will need an EFIE or a Carb Enhancer. When applying any mileage enhancement technology the fuel flow to the engine must be reduced. The EFIE does this for any vehicles with a computer and an oxygen sensor. One EFIE is required for every oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter. Most cars require only one, two are required for cars with dual exhaust systems. The Carb Enhancer does this for any vehicle with a carburetor.

Installation:

Installation of the ER HyZor takes about 2-3 hours. The main points that take time is finding a location to install it, where to run the wires and finding both a battery positive and an ignition positive. A bit of prior planning will help greatly before actually starting the installation.

The basic install of the ER HyZor is straight forward. Also necessary for a fuel injected vehicle is an EFIE. The EFIE is a device that will allow the ECU (computer in vehicle) to cut back on fuel allowing you to gain mileage. An ER HyZor without an EFIE installed will likely lose mileage. Here is why. The addition of Brown's Gas into the engine will result in more efficient combustion. The result is more free oxygen in the exhaust. The oxygen sensor will read the additional oxygen in the exhaust and this is interpreted by the ECU to mean the mixture is too lean and will dump in additional fuel to compensate, hence the loss of mileage. The EFIE adds a small voltage to the oxygen sensor bringing the mixture back in range allowing a mileage gain. One EFIE is required for each oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter.

Some newer diesel engines have oxygen sensors, but they do not need an EFIE.
